Astral Resources Hits Gold Western Australian Project

Astral Resources (ASX:AAR) reported assay results for drilling programs at deposits within the Mandilla gold project in Western Australia, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing. Assay results for the first two holes of a four-hole 1,762-meter in-fill diamond drilling program at the Theia deposit included an intercept of 28 meters at 2.63 grams per tonne grade of gold from 149 meters, including 0.5 meters at 115.7 g/t grade of gold from 152.3 meters and 0.3 meters at 20.3 g/t grade of gold from 173 meters. It said the results are likely to support the conversion of mineral resource estimate into the higher confidence indicated category. It is planning additional metallurgical testing for Theia to ensure adequate variability tests have been conducted. Assay results for a 16-hole 2,558-meter extensional reverse circulation drilling program at the Eos deposit included an intercept of 14 meters at 2.50 g/t grade of gold from 46 meters. The firm's shares fell over 3% on Monday's close.
